Areté Defined

Areté is an early Greek word meaning "excellence" or "virtue."  It encompasses the concept of "be all you can be."  It is most frequently associated with effectiveness. The man or woman of Areté is a person striving for the highest effectiveness; the faculties: strength, bravery and with to achieve Areté. According to Webster's New World Dictionary, the definition of Areté is, "excellence or virtue, especially in the full realization of potential or inherent function of a person or thing."
