AretéStaffNetTM Product Description

The Internet has tremendous potential to change the medical staffing industry and Areté Staffing Institute, Inc. is on the leading edge of this change.

The most significant efficiencies to be gained involve the transformation of processes that are currently handled with a combination of phone calls and data entry.  By moving items that are currently handled by overworked schedulers into the hands of the hospitals and nurses themselves, agencies can reduce their workloads while extending a greater level of control to their clients and employees.

Areté Staffing Institute, Inc. has developed a web based application which contains most of the core functionality critical to effectively implementing an internet strategy.

This application uses Active Server Pages 2000, using ADO to access the same SQL Server database as the Windows product(s).  The application uses Internet Information Server running on Windows NT 4.0/2000/2003.  The functionality contained in this application can be categorized into Applicant, Employee, Client and possibly other Agency services.

AretéStaffNetTM Features List

Data transfers back and forth between the web application and the AretéStaff database.  In addition, emails transmit messages from the web users to the database users.

1. APPLICANT SERVICES - This section would be available to anyone browsing the site.

  • Contact Our Recruiter - A potential employee can complete an online application, including contact information, employment history, work preferences and qualifications.  This creates data in the Applicant module, which can be reviewed from AretéStaffTM.  The applicant would then be contacted by the agency.  An interview would be arranged, which would give particular attention to verifying and documenting the qualifications claimed by the applicant and completing the employee information.  One keystroke transfers the Applicant data into the Employee records.

2. EMPLOYEE SERVICES - Upon being accepted for employment with the agency, an employee would be issued a user name and password allowing them to access this section of the web site.

  • Enter Availability - Allows users to record specified dates and time they wish to be available for work.
  • Review Availability / Schedule - availability work schedule can be viewed by any date(s) specified.
  • Update Availability - From the Review Availability / Schedule screen, users can select availability entries to modify or delete.
  • Cancel Schedule - Is an easy cancellation process that retains the data on the client and employee records.
  • Self-Match - You determine and set permission for healthcare professionals to self-match and/or self-assign.
  • Outdated Credentials / Professional Profile - Employees can view and print outdated credentials and a professional profile from the web application.

3. CLIENT SERVICES - Upon establishing a relationship with the agency, a hospital or other facility would be supplied with a user name and password (perhaps multiple ones) allowing them access to this section of the web site.

  • Enter Orders - Allows the hospital to enter an order or request for service.  They would be able to specify dates and times, service area / unit, category of employee (e.g. RN), and any skill or equipment requirements that differ from the requirements that are on file at the agency.
  • Review Orders / Schedule - Allows the hospital to view any open orders and scheduled shifts, which are on file for the specific hospital.
  • Update Orders - From the Review Orders / Schedule screen, the user can select orders to modify, cancel or send general messages concerning any shift.
  • Approve Timesheets - Allows the hospital to log on and review past shifts for which time has been entered on the employee side.  The hospital could then approve the time as entered by the employee or agency or enter conflicting times with an explanation.  The hospital representative's login time and date are automatically captured on each timesheet.
  • Reports Menu - Several reports are available including Invoices View, Invoices Aging, Trend Analysis and Productivity.

4. AGENCY SERVICES - Provided the facility has given permission to the agency to access their database via the web, they can do the following:

  • View open orders transferred from the facility's AretéStaff database via the web for potential assignment.
  • Add Availabilities for any employees designated for that particular Agency.
  • Enter, view and update qualifications including skills, competencies, and certifications of their employees via the web application.
  • Enter assignments of open orders and modifications of existing orders via the web application.
